Ms. Devon Roberts - Owner, Consultant, Trainer and Scopist

After I began scoping in 2006, I discovered that there was a void in the field of scoping where
scopists needed additional training, practice and feedback on their work.
Because my educational background involved curriculum development along with implementation
and accountability, I knew I had the skills to develop my own scoping training program to include a
scoping intern program.  In May of 2008 was when Scoping Made Affordable (SMA) began
training scopists.
The SMA curriculum has been copyright protected and has been successfully training scopists
since 2008.
Because of the changing dynamics of the court reporting field, hopefully in January of 2012, SMA
will begin enrolling scoping students for advanced editing training with the intent to graduate as a
"realtime scopist."
In order to secure longevity for scopists who are just entering the field, this is the logical
progression.
Jennifer Jenkins - SMA Trainer, Eclipse

My name is Jennifer Jenkins, and I’m honored to have been hand selected by
Devon to be a part of Scoping Made Affordable (SMA).   I have been working
closely with Devon over the last few years to hone my scoping skills.   With my
hard work and Devon’s guidance, I have been able to start and maintain a
successful scoping career.   I have an extensive background in marketing,
recruiting, and sales that I look forward to sharing with all of you.  I’m excited to
have been presented with this opportunity to share my knowledge and skills in
hope of making many more successful scopists.

As a proud graduate of Scoping Made Affordable (SMA), I am honored to
have been chosen by Devon Roberts as one of the trainers from among
her many graduates.  I have a B.S. in Education from Texas A&M
University with a specialization in reading and history.   I used my strength
in English and creative writing to teach six years in the public school
system, homeschool my own children for approximately nine years before
teaching in a private school for another two-and-a-half years.   I also
currently own and operate my own scoping business, Texas
KaleidoScoping.
