Welcome to the home of Joyful Scoping and the training program of Scoping Made Affordable
(SMA) where you will find lots of assistance to help court reporters and scopists alike:

A trainer and support person who has been in the educational field for over 20 years who simply
strives to make everything in this field easier for all involved.
Lots of one-on-one guidance through your scoping training and/or scoping work.
Access to a job leads program that wants to work with experienced and well-trained scopists once
you qualify.
A scoping training program that is the most comprehensive based on information provided and
submitted for evaluation by the many students enrolled in the Scoping Intern Program (SIP).
A person who is here for you when you get stuck in the learning/training process.
A person who is oftentimes sought to resolve computer and CAT issues.

                                  Joyful Scoping
This is the company name by which Joyful Leads, Scoping Made Affordable and the Scoping Intern Program are derived from.  I have been truly blessed by the court reporters and scopists who enjoy working with Joyful Scoping, Joyful Leads and
Scoping Made Affordable.
By the way, I truly hope that as you work with me, you'll always feel the positive attitude reflected in the company name.

                                      Scoping Made Affordable (SMA)
This is the scoping training program that began in May of 2008.  Its focus is to provide another choice in scoping training
options for those interested in becoming a scopist.  SMA came about because of the gift of teaching which the Lord has
blessed me with and constantly strives to simply provide scopists in training with the best tools to accomplish their long-term
goal of being a successful scopist.

                                       Scoping Intern Program (SIP)
The Scoping Intern Program was brought to fruition as SMA was teaching its first set of students and graduates from other
training programs wanted to gain the same training experience that occurred through SMA.  The SIP revolves around classes
held on a weekly basis in the virtual classroom, learning to work with your computer-assisted transcription (CAT) program,
submitting scoping samples for evaluation and review to provide you with tasks to work on which will make you be successful
in your scoping career.

Joyful Scoping Leads (Connecting court reporters with scopists.)
Joyful Scoping Leads began around the same time as SMA was really getting going with its first round of students.   Because
Joyful Scoping continued to be contacted by court reporters who needed their scoping work done while SMA was taking off,
I felt that it was important to share the blessings I had from being successful with others in the field.

Here is an article from April 2011 of how one courtroom
tried to use recording devices instead of a court reporter
and how they had to go back to using a court reporter.
